I just love the weird elephantiefling. I have no idea what convinced the AI drawing that a red tiefling woman looked like that. But I love it. There's a long rest or two at the start where we get nothing, so I think we saw all the Long Rest events. The fact the Deva's Mace is so good still bothers me. Anyway, moving on. The fights here and in the next section kind of show what's wrong with a lot of the fights in BG3. They are loaded down with hard and soft CC (Goaded being the worst), lots of enemies to be AoE cleaved down, and just lots and lots of meaningless enemy actions. The CC isn't that bad when you control all four players, but there are fights where a character is locked down most of the fight -- and that will suck in multiplayer. The Emperor is also an idiot; all he had to do was wait 5 seconds to learn from Orpheus that he was all in on Plan Stupid. But nope. So, instead, Karlach gets to be all tentacool. Next time: Final boss and epilogue!
