Also known as 大老二 / 鋤大D in Chinese cultures where this game is more popularly played.

This is a shedding card game (be the first to rid yourself of all cards), where the general premise is you play a card/cards that are higher ranked than the cards on the table.

An interesting feature is its use of Poker hands.

This particular version? I feel it is kind of rigged to give you pretty useless hands that you're sure right from the go that you're going to lose, sometime with 10+ cards remaining - thankfully you can redeal the hand if you feel cheated, lol.
————————————————————————————
—— Overview of Rules ——

Card Ranking — 3 is the lowest, then 4, 5, 6 .... Q, K, A, 2
Suit Ranking — Diamond is lowest, then Clubs, Hearts, Spades
So this means that Diamond 3 is the lowest ranked card in the game (and therefore is the first to be played), and the highest is Spade 2

—— Play order ——
After deal, the player with Diamond 3 plays first, s/he can play it singly, or use it as part of a legal hand (see below)

Then other players can play card(s) that are ranked higher than the card(s) played, but must follow the same number of cards played, so if the play is singles, all others must play singles. S/he may also pass the turn and not play anything

The play is over if all other 3 players pass consecutively, and the last player who played the cards gets to call the next play.

Round is over when any player rids themselves of all cards

—— Legal Hands ——
Single — A single card
Pair — 2 of the same rank - e.g. two 4s
Triples — 3 ofthe same rank - e.g. three 7s
5-card poker — Any legal poker hand of Straight or higher. In this play, poker hands that rank higher than the one on the table can be played, even if the highest card in that hand is lower - e.g. a Flush can be played on Straight regardless of the card ranks, so a 3-3-3-4-4 trumps a Spades flush of 5-7-10-K-2 since Full House trumps Flush)

if players play the same poker hand in Straight, Flush, Straight Flush, the highest card in that hand determins its rank (so a straight ending with Hearts 8 can be played on a Straight ending with Diamond 7)

In Full House and 4-of-a-kind, the value of the 3-card and 4-card determins the rank (so 5-5-5-7-7 outranks 4-4-4-A-A)

—— Scoring ——
When a player rids themselves of all the card, the round is over and scoring begins.

Big 2 uses a "card difference" type of scoring, basically you compare the remaining number of cards you have against all other opponents - so you can end up with positive score even if you didn't win.

If someone has 10, 11 or 12 cards remaining, the scoring is doubled for that player

If someone has 13 cards, the scores are tripled.

Example from first hand played:
I win with zero cards
Jennifer has 6 cards left
Richard has 5 cards left
Sabrina has 7 cards left

I get +18 (+5, +6, +7)
Jennifer gets −6 (−6, −1, +1)
Richard gets −2 (−5, +1, +2)
Sabrina gets −10 (−7, −1, −2)

Game is over when a player exceeds +100

If you have 1 card remaining, and it's Club 3, and you don't have the priority of play, you might as well drive off a bridge.
