Bigscreen (watching movies in VR)
7I rarely use my VR headset (Oculus Rift S) for games. I'll fire it up now and then for a scenic flight in MSFS2020 but that's about it to be honest.
But every now and then I like to watch a movie with it in Bigscreen.
Bigscreen is a social/virtual home VR app on Steam (costs a few bucks but not expensive) that can allow you to watch things with friends that you invite to your rooms, do virtual meetings etc but you can also just watch YouTube, Disney+, Netflix or files on your own PC in a virtual movie theater! You can even just see/use your own actual PC's desktop and use it like a virtual big monitor.
Social aspects aside, I don't use it for that at all but the movie theater rooms are super awesome. There are many style theaters to choose from (home theater, modern etc) but I really like this retro theater. It looks like something from the late 70's or early 80's with the orange design on the walls.
I can sit back, fire up a video file off my own Hard Drive and enjoy a movie in isolation. The thing is it looks great, it does look to you like you're in a large room looking at a large screen and I love the way the video on screen actually reflects light into the room. The audio is great too with headphones on you can select a variety of 3D or Dolby audio settings.
