Bithumb Founder Facing 8 years in Prison
Prosecutors in South Korea are seeking an eight-year prison sentence for Lee Jung-hoon, the de facto owner of South Korean bitcoin exchange Bithumb. Lee has been charged with large-scale fraud of over 100 billion won ($70 million). Prosecutors in South Korea indicted him in July 2021. Lee is accused of stealing millions of dollars from Kim Byung Gun, the head of BK Group.
