BIZARRE BUG IN RE4 REMAKE MAKE PLAYERS LOSE EVERYTHING!
2Capcom recently issued a warning to players of Resident Evil 4 Remake, informing them of a rare but critical progress bug. While the bug is only likely to occur under very specific circumstances, the development team is currently working on a fix and has apologized for any inconvenience it may cause.
According to the announcement made via the game's official Twitter account, the bug currently affects all platforms and prevents progress when performing certain actions in a specific area. Specifically, a cutscene plays at the beginning of chapter 12, after which the player is supposed to receive a key item. However, attacking with the knife before obtaining this item may trigger the bug, which prevents players from progressing any further.
Capcom advises players to refrain from using the knife until they receive the notification for obtaining the key item, which should appear in the upper right of the screen. Once obtained, the item should appear in the Key Items & Treasures menu in the attaché case. If it does not appear, players are advised to reload saved data from before the start of Chapter 12.
The statement ends with an apology and a promise that the team intends to fix the issue in a future update. Capcom has not yet announced a release date for the update but has assured players that they will be able to progress even with the saved data where the error previously occurred.
Despite the progress bug, Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 Remake has already sold over 3 million copies in its first two days after release, indicating that the title is "off to a solid start." This marks an improvement over other recent releases in the series, with Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 2 Remake both selling over 3 million units in their initial four days of release.
