8Blackwake may look like the indie clone of Sea of Thieves, but it actually has its own heart.
Many of the tasks that we will carry out on our ship will remind us of those that we have to carry out in Rare’s title, but at the same time we can appreciate different steps, pitfalls and gameplay elements that are incorporated and want to give this title a realistic personality, but curiously, no less crazy.
In this game we will find ourselves frantically and habitually jumping from the prow to the stern of our wooden ship with observing eye in order to execute the pertinent repairs.
We will have to fill the cannons with powder (the spoon will not be necessary), then load the cannon balls and then press the ball to the bottom of the cannon. Now all we have to do is position it in its porthole and get the lighter ready.
Curiously realistic tasks that contrast with others such as its healing system, in which a few shots of rum (if you are a fierce pirate) will be enough to heal you or a little cup of tea in the case of being a vulgar civilized man. These drinks will heal all your wounds and heal your lovesick.
Blackwake is chaos on the deck... Shot of rum, some tea overlooking the Caribbean, cannons, gunpowder clouds... Sabers and drops of salty water running down your cheeks... And the best things, tears of laughter. A fun game and even more with some friends.
The game has several modes (TDM, Siege, CTF), but the most played by the users is the 3v3 battle with 54 players distributed as the crew of 6 different ships. In this mode the two sides will face to death.
The ship's crew is composed by some NPC that will help with some of the tasks and the human players that create a nice spectacle of people working and fighting for their lives in every game we play. It will not be weird to see bodies flying like rag dolls, turning epic moments of tension into sequences worthy of the English humor of the Monty Python.
In short, an unpretentious game beyond pure fun. On these days it is something to appreciate. Affordable, very fun and ideal for these hot months away from the beach.
