Metroidvanias & Platformers are two of my favorite genres to play any games in. Getting new items that allow you to go back to previously played areas and discover more new items that do the same later are definitely in my wheelhouse. So when I learned that Blaster Master Zero, a remake of the NES game of a similar name, was essentially that, I had to play it.
Jason finds a froglike creature in a semi-dystopian future and loses said frog into the underground area that have been long abandoned. He follows the frog and finds a tank named the Sophia III and embarks on an adventure to find the frog, while avoiding mutants and bosses and building up the Sophia III to proceed further into the depths to find your frog.
