The humor in the Monkey Island series is always a blast, but I have to say this has got to be the weakest game in the series. (I say this without having played MI 2 but I hear that one is great.)

The problem that just keeps coming back the whole time I'm playing is the interface. It almost ruins the game for me, because there were too many puzzles in which I had the right idea but not the right implementation. I make assumptions as to how I can and cannot interact with the game based on what text phrases do and do not appear at the bottom of the screen, but the correct answers often end up breaking the patterns I observe.

So unfortunately, by the end, I'm just anxious to get the game overwith. Maybe this was because the progress meter was running very low compared to what I was told my actual progress was. I try to divide games into streams of approximately even length, so I felt I had to finish, but I didn't know if I was going to make it.
