Start with nothing and build an empire. Blockscape is the ultimate block building game.
You are sent to this world to start a new civilization. Explore, gather materials, craft and build.
Build beds and people will move in. Give them food and they will do work for you.
Features:
-Fully procedurally generated worlds. Every game looks and plays different.
-Play the game you want. Blockscape can be played like a survival game, rpg (not available yet), tower defence (not available yet) or like an empire building game. The type of gameplay is based on what you create or do in the game.
-Crafting. Create furniture, tools, weapons, armor, materials and more.
-NPCs. Create beds and people will move in to your buildings. Give them food and they will do work (crafting, planting, harvesting, construction).
-Hundreds of block types and materials.
-Everything is a block. Everything in your inventory can also be used as a building block. Even mobs.
-Electricity. Add electric networks to your buildings to control lights and other components.
-Water. Add water networks to supply generators and control water components.
-"Just build" game mode. Gives you infinite resources to build anything you want.
Blockscape is currently in phase 1 and in open beta.
Phase 1 is the world of blockscape. It is the environment you play in. All the trees, mountains, rivers, caves and all the blocks that they are made of. It is the tools you use to shape the world. It is the rules for how things works.
Phase 2 will contain actual gaming modes (Defence, RPG/Survival and God)
Phase 3 is a secret.
Basic Controls
Look around: Mouse
Move Forward / Backward: W / S
Strafe Left / Right: A / D
Jump: Space
Inventory: E
Take blocks: Right mouse button
Place blocks: Left mouse button
Increase / decrease block size (when taking and placing): + / -- (on the numeric keypad) or use the mouse wheel.
Shapes and textures
Change the block SHAPE: 1-6
Change the block TYPE: T-P
After pressing E to get to the inventory you can drag a block type into the T -- P boxes.
The "X" is mismarked it stands for "T"
At the beginning of the game you should notice you have 8 blocks already. These are small light emitting rocks so use them wisely!
You might find yourself completely confused when underground (like controls going the wrong way) this is because you can turn 360 degrees in any direction (so you can flip yourself upside down and 'reverse the controls'). The best way I've found to sort this out is to just jump, if you can't jump then you're probably upside down. Also be careful not to build a block on top of yourself (if you're in a confined space this is easy to do) so make sure your free to move around.
God Mode
Fly mode: F
Noclip mode which lets you pass through blocks. (Beware! Turn flight on or you will fall endlessly.): N
Text Commands
Press RETURN or ENTER to enter text commands:
debuginfo 1 - Enables debug mode
debuginfo 0 - Disables debug mode
hud 1 - Enables hud
hud 0 - Disables hud
timeofday - Gives current time
timeofday HH.MM - sets current time (note: it is in military time so it is 0-24, not am or pm)
