Blood and Rust | Titanfall 2 Walthrough Part 3
Titanfall 2 is a 2016 first-person shooter game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. A sequel to 2014's Titanfall, the game was released worldwide on October 28, 2016, for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One.
After playing some older games I haven't played in a while on the channel I wanted to go back and highlight another game that I feel like doesn't get the recognition it deserves. I didn't pick up Titanfall 2 at release back on my PS4, because like many other people I was more interested in playing Battlefield 1 at the time. I only picked it up after seeing a video showing off how awesome the multiplayer was and hearing that it had a good campaign. I ended up having a lot of fun with the campaign and spending a lot of hours playing multiplayer and the game has remained one of my favourites. But I haven't played through the campaign since I purchased the game, and though it about time to revisit this great game.
The gameplay of Titanfall 2 excels in so many areas. The shooting is responsive and has a wide variety of very satisfying weapons to use, that makes the game enjoyable if you prefer to play it more similarly to a traditional FPS. But the stand out feature is of course the movement mechanics that in the right hands turn you into a hypermobile soldier that is a real cut above the other troops you fight with and against throughout the campaign and multiplayer modes. On top of the weapon and movement mechanics you also have the Titans to master, with various loadouts and playstyles to enjoy there is a lot of fun to be had stomping around the battlefield in an armored Mech Suit.
The gameplay weather on foot, in the air or in a Titan is also backed up with superb sound design that really makes you feel every action from firing your weapons to using your Titan's core ability.
One thing that did surprise me when I first played through the games campaign is the amount of effort put into the games story. Weather it is detail put into the environments and the different set pieces throughout the campaign that really makes each level stand out and have memorable moments in. Or the quality of the writing of its characters that manages to give your Titan a real personality that grows throughout the campaign as your relationship with them grows leading to some of the games most memorable moments, which is especially impressive considering he is a cold hearted machine. And by the end of the campaign you really feel like he is your Titan, which carries over to the multiplayer.
I hope you guys enjoy this series and look back at one of my favourite games of the last generation.
