Bloons Monkey City - Vortex to Level 32
Didn't mean to have this video up so late..
So I'm back with my deep pockets to take out as many levels of Vortex as I can. (And celebrate for the Falcon clan winning this week! :D Before realizing this video is 3 weeks behind.)
I'll also talk about a few brief things about this boss below:
Starting on boss level 25, all towers within Vortex's shockwave will be completely stunned on the 3rd skull.
Then on level 30, it starts on the 2nd skull. You can see how much harder it is be me to accumulate additional damage with the boss chills - in the end the only use for it is buying yourself some extra time to use abilities.
Especially with the super ramping, which starts on boss level 31 quite strangely. I did a complete overhaul on my starting setup. Unlike with the Dreadbloon, Vortex has no shield, so you can use Boss Bane to give yourself a cash injection to compensate from the lack of cash from super ceramics (which is actually a bug, and it's very unlikely that this will ever be fixed considering that NK doesn't update this game regularly anymore), and when paired up with a boss weaken, you get $3000 from it.
This makes freeplay boss fights easier on Vortex, despite it being stronger and faster, that is until you realize that boss level 31 alone took me a whopping 1000 bloonstones to defeat!
Now a brief note on Super Ceramics, or so they're referred to as such:
- They have 38 health, but contain one of each child.
- This itself is not a bug, but what is buggy with it in boss fights is that every single bloon that is popped from the super ceramic only gives 1 cash instead of the RBE of its child like it does in CTs.
- This was intentionally added in attempt to reduce lag in late game freeplay.
Another thing to note is that when super ramping begins, all bloons gain 5% speed for each level, this includes the boss bloon, and the MOAB-class bloons gain 20% more health per level. The boss bloon's health still ramps up as normal.
As for the towers I used, it seems fairly obvious:
Spike factories were the main output for damage, their spikes stay on the track for up to 70 seconds, and with over 100 spike piles for each spike factory this scales to collosal damage - that rank 15 spike factory really helps!
Dart Monkeys are also pretty obvious - permanent SJFC FTW! How this works is by placing 10 dart monkeys, upgrading one of them to SMFC (not the 10th), using its ability, then selling the 10th dart monkey you placed. With super ramping you need to start with at least one of these, but of course with DDTs alongside that you might as well get all of them to SJFC right away, and then use the money from the boss abilities to get a spike factory.
Engineers - for their overclock ability. You may notice that I use the overclock on the village a few times, and may think it was useless. Well you'd be wrong, it actually increases the village's range by 25%. Can be quite handy to squish in a few more abilities.
Villages help quite a bit too, especially when trying to get optimal damage with CTA, and then later HEBs. Jungle drums can be useful, for one it actually doubles the attack speed of the SJFCs with the help of rank 13 dart MK (the last two are rather pointless if you ask me). As far as with the spike factories, it's best to wait until the 2nd round of spikes to use it. Otherwise it's a waste of money.
Snipers are not so obvious, especially not with the 3/x snipers. Truth is, if you use 3/0 snipers, then CTA and upgrade the right path, they deal up to 4x damage compared to its 2/3 couterpart.
Dartling Guns is the next best in DPS - 30 to be exact. TTs are ineffecient on this map due to Vortex's speed, most of the time the boss will zip right by before the ability cools down.
And arbitrarily throwing MOAB Assassins for more damage as the boss reaches the exit.
