The grand finale of Boku's summer. Yoshika returns after her business and is currently staying at the guest house for the rest of Boku's summer. Takeshi decides to mature and wishes to take over the guest house so that his father could, if he wanted, to resume being a carpenter. Unlikely, but it's a maturing moment for the cousin after his cave incident. We learn that Simon and the nurse are engaged during the campfire beach scene and Yoshika sings us a song during that night with 'mostly' everyone else on the island. As Boku and Yasuko head back to the mainland, Yoh launches his last rocket of the summer with the three valves Boku found....

And that's it. There's quite a few events that I didn't show off according to the game guide and many diary entries that didn't get written due to it's priority system. Some missed events: creating and decorating the grave for Hikari's cat, becoming the champion of the sumo beetle, going to the secret part of the treehouse, buying the ship set in the shop, etc.

There are three endings you can get and this is the best one which requires you to get all the rocket valves. The "worst" one is having next to no special events written in the diary which Boku will say it was a quiet summer. The next one up is a somewhat eventful summer where you have the majority of the diary with events, but you don't find all the rocket valves. Hence, this is the best and probably canon ending.

You probably noticed Boku got slightly tan over the course of the game. It's because the game has a tanning system. You'll tan faster if you take your shirt off and it's based off of real time spent outside not game time. So if you AFK a certain amount of time outside shirt off, he'll be even tanner than his cousins.

We got all the photos, I believe. I thought there was one more that Simon took, but I guess not according to the guides. There is no new game plus, so whatever bugs, bottle caps, fish you caught, and money will not carry over.

Overall, a fun relaxing game that actually had quite a lot of stuff to do. You can change the time to long and take your time catching every bug, catching every fish, completing the beetle sumo, or encounter other events you might've missed.

Taken from the Wiki:

Boku no Natsuyasumi 2: Umi no Bouken-hen (ぼくのなつやすみ2海の冒険篇, lit. "My Summer Vacation 2: Sea Adventure Chapter") is a video game developed by Millennium Kitchen and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2. It is part of the popular Boku no Natsuyasumi series and was released in Japan on July 11, 2002. It is an alternate universe sequel in which the main character spends his summer in a different part of Japan from the first game. It takes place during the same summer with many of the same characters, but in a different location, a town on Japan's southern coast. A PlayStation Portable version was released on June 24, 2010, and a fan translation of the PlayStation 2 game into English was released on November 1, 2023.

The main character spends his summer vacation at his aunt and uncle's bed and breakfast in a southern Japanese coastal town. Features from the first game, like collecting and bug battles, return, along with new facets, like swimming. The player controls the main character for the thirty-one days of August 1975.
