Bolsonaro: “Each party should launch its candidate in the 1st round.”
💡 WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO KNOW:
👥 Poder Gente | Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), 70, advocated this Tuesday (July 15, 2025) for right-wing parties to launch multiple presidential candidates in the first round of the 2026 elections.
In an interview with Poder360, he said the strategy won't fragment the candidacies, as the right is "united" behind him. Bolsonaro stated that he has already spoken with governors Romeu Zema (Novo-MG), Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos-SP), and Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil-GO). All three are expected to run for president in 2026. Zema announced on Monday (July 14) that he will run.
