Bomber Bot is then the new game and takes inspiration from classics like Bomber Man, or, if you prefer, Eric and the Floaters. The story has nothing to do with it, because here we have to rid our planet of an alien threat, which has decided to take over all our nuclear power plants. These aliens look like giant octopuses, but a bomb placed in the right place at the right time is enough to fix them (and sometimes us too).

As the sprites are small, this allows you to have a much larger play area than the games mentioned above. It is thus possible to create very varied scenarios, with lots of enemies and obstacles (some destructible and revealing "prize") and immense levels, without fear of exhausting the ZX Spectrum's meager memory (note that despite the game being less than 48K, it only runs at 128K).

But with such small sprites, a disadvantage inevitably arises, at least if we want to reach the end of the mission. It is then much more difficult to eliminate enemies, and it becomes more worrying, because the bombs are limited in number, although some are hidden in the elements of the environment. Thus, we will have to use the bombs with some parsimony, otherwise we run the risk of being at the mercy of the enemies. It is worth not having a time limit to complete each level and thus we have enough time to just risk the deposition of the bombs for sure.

The game is highly addictive and fun and the only flaw we found was some difficulty in placing the bombs. Or rather, not exactly in the placement of the bombs, but in the place to which we are facing, right after we drop a bomb. Sometimes we find ourselves facing the wrong place, trapped between an enemy or obstacle, and inevitably the explosion hits us. But nothing that experience and some manual dexterity can't solve...
