BONELAB is an experimental physics game that has a campaign mode and a sandbox mode (with mods) that basically makes it a VR Garry's Mod. BUT in order to get the "utility gun" to spawn stuff in modded worlds, you need to play through the whole campaign (from what I've heard). Don't get me wrong, it's really fun! I've enjoyed every level I've played so far (which is like 7) but I just want to play VR Garry's Mod sometimes... Anyway I'm streaming it now so you guy's can go through it with me while I continue the grind for the utility gun.
