The iPhone 5 is Apple's latest smartphone on the market. The long awaited successor to the iPhone 4 (sorry 4s) is finally here. Apple has made a few changes to the hardware design of the iPhone 5; for starters its now sports a 4-inch Retina display with a resolution of 1136x640. It is also power by the brand new A6 processor and 1GB of ram; as usual the iPhone comes in 16GB, 32GB, & 64Gb flavors in Black and white. As well as an 8 megapixel iSight camera( Same camera as 4S with software improvements).
The first thing you will notice with the new iPhone 5 is how surprisingly light the device is. It is only 7.6mm thick and feels like a feather in your hands, which is great. otherwise the design is still the same only stretch out in length and not width to accommodate the new 4-inch retina display- which isn't HD by the way. The other new additions is 4G LTE, marking it the first time the iPhone enters into the 4G LTE world and from our test here it doesn't disappoint, with download speeds reaching up to 52Mbps and uploads of up to 20Mbps. Which is great and allows iPhone user take full advantage of 4G LTE networks
In terms of Battery life you have got similar battery times as the iPhone 4s so far, so I would say no huge improvements there. The Camera is the next new feature. though the iPhone % House the same camera as the 4S, it is much improved, especially taking better low light photos and also the added Panorama mode is and added plus. They more camera options would be nice to see in the future.
Other enhances to the iPhone 5 come from iOS6 and here you have a mixed bag case, with Apple taking the imitative in creating new software additions that could be revolution but end up falling flat. first of is the new Passbook feature,. which allows you to aggregate you Boarding bass, coupons and store cards into one place. Which is a great idea, but the omission of NFC capabilities to the iPhone 5 limit the scope of Passbook from what could have been to another bar code scanner app.
The iPhone 5 carries on the companies great tradition of hardware design and build. Though the device will be a huge success and is a worth improvement over its predecessors. The iPhone 5 falls short in some ways to it current market competition in areas such as NFC, MAPS, and even connection ports(new proprietary port). The iPhone 5 still has great quality like the large screen display, faster and smoother operations thanks to the A^ processor and an improved camera.
The verdict her is this, if you own an iPhone 4, 4S or maybe a 3GS; then this is definitely an upgrade you need to make but I don't think this will swing people on the fences or Android, Windows phone user.
