This update also improves battery length over the last version. 688 update. Thank goodness!!! Some posts also reported faster response time navigating on the Playbook.
The next highlight was the email and organizer changes. For Email, Calendar, and Contacts, they can be viewed in Portrait mode as well as landscape. That was definitely a pet peeve of mine!!! If you went from application to application, you had to keep flipping direction if the apps had different orientation.
File transfer is supposed to be available, using the Bridge over Wi-Fi. However, I tried changing every setting, and couldn't seem to transfer anything. I saw no menu option changes either. Any ideas anyone?
Lastly, the Android player is reported to have improved in function. I didn't see any noticeable changes, but then again I haven't really used the Android apps that I had "sideloaded". I tried opening Skype but it never signed in. But I did go into App World and did a search for "Android." There were quote a few Android apps listed.
So to sum it up, so far so good with the text messages! The rest is to-be-determined.
