Bosconian - The Granddaddy of Multi-Direction Scrolling Arcade Shooters (Namco, 1981)
1One of Tygra Khan's favorite arcade games next to Sinistar, Bosconian is considered the grandfather of all multi-directional scrolling arcade shooters. You pilot the Starfighter, humanity's last hope to defeat alien invaders who have destroyed the earth with missile launching space stations. Destroy the stations by either destroying all of their round nodes, or hitting them in the center. All the while, you'll need to destroy or dodge asteroids, mines, and enemy ships. The difficulty curve isn't very steep with this game, but it can get challenging as you continue to progress through the later stages.
