The House of The Dead: Remake - PC Version Review
A full play through and review for the PC version of The House of The Dead: Remake (MegaPixel Studio). This is the campaign mode shown here. The game also boasts online multiplayer and horde modes as well.
Developers did an excellent job re-imagining Sega's most prolific rail shooter of all time in a more modern 3D format. The presentation of more realistic than ever looking zombies is quite compelling.
To the game's benefit, it has branching path narratives that change depending on player actions, just like the original series did.
To the game's detriment, it has slow loading times between stages, and a bit of lag between scene transitions. Some enemies appear to have bad hit boxes too. But overall aiming controls seem to be pretty good with the PC version.
Likewise, sadly, much of the dialogue from the original game was not included in the remake.
The game is now out and available on multiple platforms, including XBOX One, PS4, Google Stadia, and from GOG and Steam for the PC version.
