The Boston Massacre in 1770, in the background here, greatly heightened tensions between the 13 Colonies and the British. The flag flying here is the British American 13 Colonies flag. The song is "I Vow to Thee My Country, War Version" from Civilization V. Though the song wasn't written until the 20th century, it still hauntingly mirrors the collapse of vows of kinship between countrymen, during the late 1700s. A plea for representation in Parliament, along with its rejection, would soon fracture into an irreparable schism as blood began to flow into the streets. Share your thoughts below!
