Well I certainly earn the channel title "Video Game Esoterica" with this series! lolol
Here comes the NEC PC-FX! The failed successor console to the NEC PC Engine. It absolutely bombed when it was released and is probably the worst follow up to a successful console sales wise that has ever been introduced...
But that doesn't mean it doesn't have good games! It's obscure retro gaming fun!
Up Next: Boundary Gate. The PC-FX has a decent amount of JRPG (or RPG) games and Boundary Gate is one of it's most unique; it's your classic dungeon crawler except from a first person perspective. Sure it has turn based rpg elements aplenty but all the navigation throughout the world of Boundary Gate is done in the same vein as a first person shooter. It's retro gaming genre mashup madness...but it's also a super intriguing and rare JRPG retrogaming experience!
