Back in 2006, when my sister Jen was starting on the bowling team at VVS, Dad would go bowling with her to help her practice. Dad used to bowl and this was a great opportunity for him to get into bowling again as well. I recorded the video because they wanted to see their forms, but I ended up making music videos for each of them instead.

Dad was, for the time, having a pretty good day, though the video editing makes it come across as even better. Note at the end that is three-game score was 566; he regularly bowls in the mid to high 600s now, has had a number of 700 series, and has had a 300 game and a couple of 298s. Obviously, he's improved in the last five and a half years.

From a technical standpoint, there are things I'd want to change about the video. It was shot interlaced; I knew what that was at the time but didn't know that my camera could do progressive. Still, it made slow-mo shots easier. I was also somewhat unsteady with the camera at times, and for the face shots I relied on autofocus, which got wonky. In post, there are some fades during zooms, which is a no-no, and some color correction would have been nice to give it a warmer tone. Still, as far as cutting to the music goes, I think I did a pretty good job.
