I was having issues with the braking system in the new Forza Motorsport. It felt like I was pulling the handbrake every time I went into a corner. At first, I thought it was the brake pedal itself, so I tried changing the pedal settings, but you can only change the inner and outer dead zones. However, the problem is the brakes themselves. Typically, the percentage of braking power is higher in your front brakes. I'm not sure if this was a design decision by turn 10, but if you go into your tuning settings, some cars are tuned by default with the rear brakes having a higher percentage than the front brakes. This will cause you to go into a slight drift, similar to pulling the handbrake. Most cars are evenly distributed 50/50 between the front and rear. Some cars, like the BMW M series, have higher braking power in the rear by default.

Default brakes cannot be edited so you need to upgrade the brakes first to tune it. In the tune setup menu, as you move the braking force meter towards the front or rear, you’ll get the simulated braking distance on the left of the screen. This all depends on the weight distribution of the car. Some cars feel better in the corner and have a lower braking distance with a slight balance towards the front brakes. You can test drive the car from this menu to get the balance feeling better.
