Brave Fencer Musashi - Part 13: Operation "Save Tim" Begins!
Musashi leaves out from Twinpeak Mountain after a victorious battle against the first Crest Guardian, Skullpion.
If you come back to Grillin Village during the evening when Chapter 3 starts, you'll notice that the environment is now purplish. Even if you don't, what you WILL definitely notice either way is how the peaceful music that would usually play at this point has been replaced by something much more haunting and melancholic. Creepy... Even Musashi can sense that something's wrong...
By the way, this haunting music will last for the entire chapter! Have you heard of something called an Earworm?!
Before you get down to business, you should go back to Hell's Valley to discover another Minku in the same location you fought Skullpion in. Looks like knowing the Dashing Pierce technique only made catching Minku a bit harder...
--------------
Head to the town square during the daytime to notice the mayor discussing something with Hotelo in front of the Grocery. This is the first time you even get to see Hotelo outside of his Inn.
Apparently, during Musashi's quest, Tim, the son of the Grocery's owner, Hilda, was attacked by a half-vampire, half-zombie creature known as a Vambee. Based on what was originally a folk tale, these ghouls only come out at night to suck human blood. Tim may be a brat, but even he didn't deserve this.
Some of this blame can actually be put on Hilda, herself, as she left her son outside as a punishment for missing his nighttime curfew. She had no idea what would result from that, though, and now all she can do is pray that Tim can be cured in time.
If he doesn't get cured in time, he will become a Vambee, himself. A special Remedy is Tim's only hope, and must be made from a flower called Misteria, and a special water known as Aqualin.
Mayor Govern sends Hotelo off to the top of Twinpeak Mountain to retrieve the Aqualin, while Musashi is tasked with finding Misteria, located deep inside the village's Mine.
Right now, the mine's locked out, so Musashi has to go to Wid, who lives in a Windmill, in order to get the mine's Key, but you're only able to talk to Wid very late at night.
Although Hotelo headed off to Twinpeak Mountain, you can still find him at his Inn for your usual service with him. Seems like he has all the time in the world.
For this whole chapter, alongside the Halloween-esque music, everyone that usually hangs outside of their homes will stay inside due to the Vambee attacks that can happen through the late night.
--------------
I waste a little bit of time by heading to the location of the Earth Crest, first. It's in Steamwood Forest. Just step on the crest, charge up, then use the Earth Scroll on top of it. Musashi will throw Lumina high into the air, and let it grow and slam into the crest with incredible force.
The Earth Scroll's power allows the Earth Crest to drop a massive chunk of a rock off from its cliff, allowing Musashi to climb all the way up and over the top. There's another Minku, here, so that should be worth your time. There's also something else there, but I don't show it. It will be VERY important much later, though.
--------------
So again, if it's very late at night, head to Wid's Windmill and ask for his Key. He lets Musashi know that the Misteria flower only blooms at the mine's underground lake, and only between the hours of 3am to 7am.
Another reminder to check up on the people you saved, too. If you talk to Knight Lardwick (KnightB) again, he'll teach you a new technique called the Crosswise Cut.
The Crosswise Cut is pretty much a quick combo utilizing both Fusion & Lumina's normal attacks in succession.
After a bit more time wasting and saving, it's time to go underground!
