The group finds Glynn and...a very strange setup that reveals the truth behind Glenn's actions. NEVER TRUST AN ASTERISK WIELDER.
Key Notes:
Boss: (Dream) Mayor Glenn the Salve-Maker - HP: / Weakness: / Family: Humanoid
Counters: Physical Attacks (uses Contagion Agent or Philtre), Magical Attacks (uses BP Tonic)
- Counter-Savvy is a must here, as it helps you to avoid getting murdered by Contagion Agent or getting annoyed by Philtre.
- (Dream) Glenn uses several Salve-Maker skills:
1) Contagion Agent delivers a fixed damage of 1500 (900 if Defaulting) to all targets while inflicting Contagion, which depletes MP. He also uses it as a counter and may kill you if very unlucky, so equip Counter-Savvy.
2) Philtre (spelled Philter in the West) may inflict Charm on a target and is also another physical counter. Again, Counter-Savvy renders this useless as a counter.
3) BP Tonic gives Glenn an extra BP. This is used as a magical counter, so beware using too much magic.
4) Giga-Potion restores his HP by 5,000, though he only starts using this when he's nearly defeated. You must defeat him before he gets a chance to recover a huge chunk of HP.
5) That shovel is considered an axe, so now you can see Shovel Knight in a less hilarious way.
- Bringing Gwilym into this fight may make things a bit harder, as his breaths are magical attacks that may trigger Glenn's BP Tonic.
- Consider his counters and Counter-Savvy existing, physical attacks are in high demand to deal with Glenn properly.
- At the earliest point you can fight him, you can prevent Charm by buying Lockets from the shop. However, Contagion can't be nullified in full for everyone, as there is only one Vaccine you can equip (preferably on your healer) that you ironically find in this dungeon.
Salve-Maker
- This job exploits items by making them more useful through combining them with exclusive ingredients only it can use.
- Widen Area has the user apply a single dose of a healing item to all party members. Needless to say, you can make Ethers heal everyone, or even turn Elixirs into pseudo-Megalixirs. At times, this job may even be more useful than the White Mage.
- If you're dealing with Undead enemies, Widen Area can screw them all over with a single or two Phoenix Downs, making the job excellent in dealing with that type of family.
- The Salve-Maker has an easier time inflicting status ailments thanks to the Status-Conscious passive ability. Since many jobs have skills that inflict more damage depending on the status ailment afflicted, it can support others very well.
- Its first speciality "Master Medic" lets it obtain a single healing and magic herbs at the end of every battle to keep a steady source of items available.
- It's got a rank A on swords and axes.
- Its weakness is that you can't use its skills outside of battle, so no cheating with Widen Area. Also, it can't be used to auto-heal everyone, unlike the White Mage or Red Mage being able to do that.
Watch, enjoy, and comment, everyone.
