The Sword Fencer is an interesting mercenary. Much like every merc in any given game, once a price is set they do their job. Very rarely in a narrative setting will you see a merc actively leave their job. This guy realizes that once he's in a losing battle, he'll just run off. Or he'll set a price so ridiculously high that no one can pay for it. I have to wonder if Profiture had the funds, would the merc have stayed to finish the fight?
