Watch with excitement as I do my very first unboxing video! I will be unboxing my Bravely Second: End Layer Collector's Edition and will be making a comparison to the Bravely Default Collector's Edition as well.
I am a huge fan of Bravely Default, it was one of those games that I knew nothing about at the time and was taken sideways by how good it was. Bravely Default quickly worked its way up into the top of my JRPG chart and became the longest I ever play a JRPG at 253hours of play time. I would go as far to argue that Bravely Default is the best JRPG on the Nintendo 3DS.
I was extremely excited when I found out that Bravely Default was going to have a sequel. So for my birthday my fiancee reserved a copy of the Bravely Second: End Layer Collector's Edition for me. I having been dying to play it ever since I picked it up in April from GameStop, but I decided back then that I wanted to wait and do an unboxing for you guys on YouTube!
(This was before I got my YouTube channel up and running) Speed up months later and here we are finally and we are now doing the Bravely Second: End Layer Collector's Edition Unboxing!
Bravely Second: End Layer or (Hepburn: Bureiburī Sekando: Endo Reiyā in Japan) is a Japanese
role-playing-video-game for the Nintendo 3DS and is the direct sequel to Bravely Default. Bravely Second: End Layer was also developed by Silicon Studio and published by Square Enix. It was released by Square Enix in Japan on April 23, 2015, and was released by Nintendo in North America, Europe, and Australia in 2016.
Bravely Second: End Layer is set two and a half years after the events of Bravely Default and features two new protagonists alongside two returning on a journey in Luxendarc. Bravely Second: End Layer also retains most of the gameplay systems from Bravely Default, such as the Brave & Default battle system and acquiring Sleep Points for the time-stopping Bravely Second ability.
Bravely Second: End Layer also has a minigame of rebuilding a village like in Bravely Default. The party will be tasked with rebuilding Magnolia's hometown on the Moon
Some of the new additions to the gameplay is "Consecutive Chance" and "My Set". Consecutive Chance allows players to chain multiple battles with each one containing a greater increase in difficulty and rewards. However, the major drawback is that Brave Points will not be restored between fights, so poor planning and recklessness may lead to early deaths. The My Set function enables players to save their configurations for their jobs, equipment, and abilities reducing the time one must spend in the menu.
A new minigame called Chompcraft is introduced, where the player creates toys.
The new Barter Sub-Scenario System, is a revamped version of sidequests found in Bravely Default It focuses on having players make important decisions by solving disputes between asterisk holders, which rewards them with asterisks as well as further that character's quest chain and side of the story
Like in Bravely Default, Bravely Second: End Layer utilizes the job system, featuring several new job classes in addition to the current ones. Asterisks are still used as the catalyst for changing jobs. There are 30 jobs and over 300 abilities.
