Date-setters are always wrong. We simply cannot predict the time of Christ's return. Those who attempt to do so bring unnecessary embarrassment on the church. However, as Jesus indicated in the parable of the fig tree, it is possible to know, based on indications that the signs are falling in place, "that summer is near." That is, people can know that the "season" for Christ's return is approaching.

Ours may not be the generation that participates in the rapture -- yet again it could be. Why? Because our generation has more prophetic reason, through fulfilled prophecy, to believe that Christ is coming than any generation since Christ ascended and promised to return.

We have already seen that our Lord's Olivet Discourse in Matthew 24-25 is the most important passage of prophecy in the New Testament. If you understand this passage, you will be able to determine the timing of most of the events mentioned in other Bible prophecies. Matthew 24:9-31 provides the essential details of the Tribulation period right up to the Second Coming of Christ to the earth to set up His literal physical kingdom. This is amazingly compatible with Revelation chapters 6 to 19 and 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, which we have already studied.
