Penn State secured another commitment for the Class of 2024 with three-star tight end Luke Reynolds. The 6-4 quarterback-turned-tight end prospect from Cheshire Academy in New England chose the Nittany Lions quickly after getting an offer from the program. He’s the fifth player in the class and another underrated prospect in the group.

Penn State lands dark horse
There’s a good reason that Reynolds ss a relative unknown and under-scouted player. He’s in the mold of current Penn State tight end Tyler Warren. He’s been playing quarterback half of the time at Cheshire Academy. Still, Fitz says that the signs of talent are there,
“You look at his highlights. He's running a lot of traditional quarterback (snaps) because I think he's the best athlete. He's the best player on the field up there. But you look at some of the stuff he does and Pat Freiermuth did some of that stuff. Andrew Rapley did some of that stuff.
Luckily for Ryenolds, he’ll get an early transition to tight end because high high school recruited a talented quarterback to throw him the football this fall.
“Dante Reno, who is committed to South Carolina as a quarterback in the class of 2024, has transferred there. So Reynolds is going to get a chance to actually play the position. I know it's crazy to think about it, but play the position that he's going to be playing in college this year.”
At the moment, Reynolds is a three-star prospect in the On300 database with an 85.06 overall grade. There’s significant room for improvement says Carr,
“Penn State does a great job of identifying guys that aren't just physical tools in that kind of mold of a three-star that has potential, but also has the ability to realize that potential. And some of the things I picked up on when it comes to Luke Reynolds, just seeing his highlight film is that he has great body control”
“You can see that in a bunch of different ways. For a guy that is new to the tight end position, when he's going up and getting the ball contested catches do not seem to bother him against admittedly smaller defenders. But still, the ability to find the ball in the air, track it, catch it, and then run after the catch is there.”
