Breath of Fire Improved is a hack by ThegreatBen for the GBA edition of Breath of Fire. Some equipment modifications, leveling rates, altered stat gains, a restored snes palette, and a few other things are on display here.

Time for Nina to claw her way through the woods en route to Karma Tower.

Enemy wise, mostly stuff she's fought already, but there's a new enemy, the Spider. Hits decently hard, takes more than one E.Key use to drop, and also tends to be quicker than her at lv9. Spiders can also poison, but that can be easily lifted after the battle finishes.

Now, you'd think the Spiders would force Nina to play really defensively here. Not really I say for two reasons.

First, she'll be just fine if she's at full hp before getting into any battles. Secondly, her healing & buffing spells have the highest priority in the battle order. It won't matter if she has 0 agility, she'll still cast her spells first. A little overpowering if you ask me, but whatever.

Anyways...the Ramui Woods are annoying for one reason...a massively inflated encounter rate that also persists into the next dungeon.

Starting out, just move west until you see the first lone tree. There's a hidden STRup that said tree is hiding. Three other trees in the area likewise hold treasure in this fashion.

As you move west, the first path going north leads to a Herb. Heading further west leads you to an intersection with a few directions you can head in.

If you go south, you'll find a chest with Bracers (shield for Nina). Northeast of that chest is a lone tree with a thin line of clumped trees right to its north. Hidden chest in the tree with a Herb here.

At the intersection, going north leading to a path going west or further north. 150gp is in the chest if you take the path going further north.

If you go west? Stick to the northern side of it and check behind the first lone tree you ram into for a WISup. A Herb is located in a chest at the end of the western path.

Finally, the western route back at the first intersection leads to the exit. There's a similar setup of trees you'll run across like where you grabbed the hidden Herb. Same tree here has a hidden item to snag, an AGLup.

With that, you're out of here after going further west. Great! Especially for me who spent a little over 16 minutes in this place because of that insane encounter rate.
