The UTC Mk 2 was provided to me for review by Bart the CEO of UTC and my thanks go out to him. I have tried numerous Head-tracking alternatives to TrackIR and I think this has to be one of the very best.
It stands out in a number of areas;
-- It has an extra wide LED viewing angle, the widest I have seen, this reduces the likelihood of the device disconnecting if you turn your head too far.
-- Very lightweight, I barely noticed it was attached.
-- Excellent battery life.
-- Low latency, even without tweaking the setup this device was fast and responsive.
-- Seems high efficient even in a room with excessive ambient light.
All in all this a great bit of kit, if you can source a camera to use with it then this device is 100% going to deliver you a great head-tracking experience.
Nice work UTC, looking forward to testing the Mark 3.
