When the RE2 Remake was released, Capcom incorporated a unique feature that became such a game changer that they added it to their Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake games.
With game remakes becoming more and more widespread, and with that, developers garnering inspiration from one another, why not make the most out of the upcoming Dead Space Remake's atmosphere by adding this small but absolutely amazing mechanic in to the game? Seems like a no-brainer to me...
