British Army's youngest recruits take on first combat exercise in sub-zero conditions
Junior Soldiers from Burma Company at the Army Foundation College Harrogate have embarked on their second field exercise under sub-zero conditions just eight weeks into basic training.
The deployment took place in forests near Ripon, North Yorkshire, during what were the coldest nights of the winter so far.
While on exercise, the 16- and 17-year-olds had their first taste of combat training, learning how to engage and kill enemies with their SA80 L85 personal weapon systems.
