I've been looking at interesting file managers and ways to see view your file system recently and I came across a program called broot which is similar in some ways to fzf. Unlike fzf it makes a very significant change that makes it so much faster to use. Instead of digging all the way through you file system when you launch it, it does it in layers much like you typical terminal file manager does. It's not going to replace lf for me but I do have a really cool use involving lf to show you.
