336BRUTAL DOOM v21 GOLD release with DARK DOOM Z addon, The Refracted Reality Episode, map The Chromabyss for DOOM II Hell On Earth by various authors on the Ultra-Violence difficulty level. The Chromabyss is a quite small map but surely difficult to pass when you think that 'Mild Resistance' is light when you approach a teleporter to this map from the central hub of the WAD. The level begins quite softly, at first you must leave the entry area and head towards the second tower with a small elevator inside, hint hint - you might feel confused at start where to go. Once you reach a top of this tower, grab some shotgun shells and rifle rounds around, probably you will also wake up the Imps outside together with Shotgunners and basic Zombies. Fight your way through the bridge to reach the catle in the void, be warned however because there are some monsters blocking your way to the inside, but it's still not that challenging. You might notice that at start there are plenty of health and armor bonuses, asking yourself why do you need so much of them just at start while enemies at the beginning are weak? Well, it changes a lot once you enter the castle and explore it a little, the monsters waiting there are way more dangerous, introducing a very early Cyberdemon waiting for you downstairs. To the left upstairs to the top of the castle, you will encounter lots of the Cacodemons with a Baron of Hell guarding the mandatory switch (without it, you won't be able to enter the labyrinth). But you will eventually have to move downstairs and face a Cyberdemon, not only him but also a company of high tier monsters such as few Archviles, provoke an infight between them for your own good. Another surprise, there is also a second Cyberdemon that will fire at you on sight, you can take both Cyberdemons with a Rocket Launcher instantly or run to labyrinth and find a Plasma Rifle with BFG. The last step of this map will be simply to exit it using an elevator (near the large room) and then head to an exit, but be warned because a Spider Mastermind will be spawned just at the end.
