Brutality at Zero health: Salt and Sanctuary Part 14
Brutality at Zero health: Salt and Sanctuary Part 14
Completely getting wrecked... surviving the impossible for a short period of time... and then getting wrecked more.
Brutal punishment.
Outro music is "Cold Funk" by Kevin Macleod.

Mostly just running around and then SPIDERS.
Tree of Men boss battle: Salt and Sanctuary gameplay part 12
TIMBER.
This boss is the stuff of nightmares.
Kraekan Wyrm Boss Battle: Salt and Sanctuary gameplay Part 10
First we have to finally take out a massive dragon... with a sword. Then we have to... navigate. Lots of navigation, lots of mobs. Just... really, honestly, kind of a pain. But progress is made. Gotta count it!
The Fake Jester and the Real Jester: Salt and Sanctuary gameplay Part 9 boss fight
We engage The False Jester and meet the Real Jester.
We get to the Castle of Storms. And then die.
That's about it for this episode.
The kraekan cyclops cracks our skulls.
If you haven't played Dark Souls to reference, Salt and Sanctuary would fall under the umbrella of "metroidvania". It also is easily somethign you could call retro. 2D side-scroller, multiple levels, free movement left and right, gravity exists but there's still a lot of up and down screen shifting. It's not "2.5D", nothing is 3D looking. But the way the high-resolution pixel art and animations are assembled combines the fluidity of 3D with the simplicity of 2D. And it.. just, well, works. The sound is amazing too.
It's just... hard. But so far... fair. Kind of.
Thanks to my decent PC, video uploads can and should always be set to 60hz(60fps).
Vidviking takes on the Mad Alchemist. Again. With very different results. Eventually.
Navigation. Salt and Sanctuary gameplay part 6 at 60fps
Navigation. Yup. That's pretty much it in this one.
Next time we face the Mad Alchemist.
But this time... navigation.
We actually win at something! Vidviking exerts dominance over a worthy foe and we move on to uncover more of this dark World.
Vidviking plays Salt and Sanctuary gameplay Part 2...
We decided he would be playing this one, because I did Just Cause 3(mostly) and he digs side-scrollers.
This thing is Dark Souls, with everything flattened out. Sideways.
Not familiar with Dark Souls? Neither are we. We thought it would be a good idea to play the 2D version first.
A good idea.
