Navigation. Salt and Sanctuary gameplay part 6 at 60fps
Navigation. Salt and Sanctuary gameplay part 6 at 60fps
Navigation. Yup. That's pretty much it in this one.
Next time we face the Mad Alchemist.
But this time... navigation.
If you haven't played Dark Souls to reference, Salt and Sanctuary would fall under the umbrella of "metroidvania". 2D side-scroller, multiple levels, free movement left and right, gravity exists but there's still a lot of up and down screen shifting. It's not "2.5D", nothing is 3D looking. But the way the animations are assembled combines the fluidity of 3D with the simplicity of 2D. And it.. just, well, works. The sound is amazing too.
It's just... hard. But so far... fair. Kind of.
Thanks to my decent PC, video uploads can and should always be set to 60hz(60fps).
Outro music is "Cold Funk" by Kevin Macleod.

We actually win at something! Vidviking exerts dominance over a worthy foe and we move on to uncover more of this dark World.
Vidviking plays Salt and Sanctuary gameplay Part 2...
We decided he would be playing this one, because I did Just Cause 3(mostly) and he digs side-scrollers.
This thing is Dark Souls, with everything flattened out. Sideways.
Not familiar with Dark Souls? Neither are we. We thought it would be a good idea to play the 2D version first.
A good idea.
