I can't believe it took me so long to find out about events in Bspwm but this has completely changed the way that I script this window manager. So if you don't don't know about bspc subscribe basically what it will let you do is access every single action that is being performed by your instance of bspwm, now the reason why this is useful is that you can completely change the behaviour of bspwm if you put enough thought into it and some people have done that. So I hope for find this useful in scripting bspwm and ricing it to your hearts content.
