In episode twenty-seven, we begin our assault on the town of Palma Di Montechiaro. The town is well-defended, and we take some casualties on the approach before a long flanking maneuver by first platoon takes the enemy trench line. But then, disaster strikes! When the Italian troops wave white flags from the windows of the houses signaling parlay, and I send Lt. Wilson to meet with the garrison commander to hash out the surrender, the enemy officer guns him down like a dog in flagrant violation of the rules of war! Though Wilson gives as good as he gets, my soldiers fly into a rage, changing the objective taking the town from low casualties to revenge. Things are about to get wild...
Burden of Command is a platoon-level roleplaying game where we take on the role of an officer in the United States Army commanding a platoon in the 7th Infantry Regiment ("The Cottonbalers") during World War Two. This game uses WW2 as a setting, but in addition to a tactical game, it's a roleplaying game where your personality and how you interact with the officers around you have a major impact in your personal story and the stories of the troops serving under and alongside you. In this run, I'll be roleplaying a sarcastic reservist who loves hearing himself talk and always looks after his troops.
