As I mentioned on Twitter earlier this week, I reeeally had an urge to make the heaviest cover I've done on this channel this week, so that's what I did. The "dungeon" themes from the earlier Pokémon games are some of my absolute favorites to arrange and I felt this one fit the theme quite well!
Major developments with this one - I finally took the step away from Line 6 Pod Farm and used an amp sim called Grind Machine II - I've been really nervous about it, but I was super surprised at how quickly I was able to find tones that I liked way more than my old ones. I'm not bashing Pod Farm by any means, it has served me well since I started out and I think it's a great product - I just feel like I've been longing for a tone that I haven't quite been able to find using Pod Farm and it's time to try something else. Also words can't describe how free I felt when I didn't need to have my Line 6 GX plugged in at all times for the authorization to work, haha.
My tones will surely evolve from here as well as I get more comfortable with the Grind Machine plugin!
On the subject of tones, thanks to my bro Dryhands for reamping my DI with his lead tone! Lead tones are the bane of my existence and help from actual guitarists is so heavenly haha~
