Developing the a-m-i technique can help you play fast scale passages with ease, and since you’re using 3 fingers instead of 2, there’s less tension on the right hand.

If you decide to incorporate this technique to your playing, you also need to revise the left hand fingerings to fit the right hand pattern. You don’t have to use a-m-i every time you encounter a scale passage, sometimes the usual i-m alteration is more than enough.

Anyway, it’s really not necessary to develop this technique but it won’t hurt to add this to your current skill set.
