The Backsid is a very good chip. There is very good compatibility in terms of games, less so for demos. Probably still due to a lack of optimization but it is a scalable chip. The firmware can be updated and this is a plus to this chip. I haven't encountered any particular problems in games with this chip but glitches on music from certain composers like Jammer, Stinsen or Pych858o. Probably due to the fact that this musician pushes the sid to its extreme and also uses the ADSR filter which still poses a problem for the Backsid. This may be fixed with future updates. The Backsid is really a very beautiful chip designed by Evie, in fact you can find her chain in the link. We can only thank her for the work she does. The Backsid interface is very intuitive and updating the firmware is very simple. You also have functions to play on the filters, add more bass or trebles... very simply. If you are an enthusiast, do not hesitate to purchase this chip for your collection. The price of the Backsid is very interesting but may be less interesting to Europeans because the shipping costs are really expensive from the United States. You will need to count around 50 euros for an import all taxes included. Personally, I invested in this chip because... I need them all :)
