TEXT FROM THE INPUT64 MAGAZINE AND IN-GAME TEXT:
Hunting for the dream woman in Fantasya:
It would be a nice story, but it is far too boring for a computer game: Tom lives with Betty on a dreamily beautiful South Sea island, and if they haven't died, they are still alive today. That's why the story goes differently.
Betty is kidnapped by pirates, and Tom has to throw himself into life-threatening adventures in search of his lover.
He follows the pirate ship with his balloon and has to land on the loading area of the privateer frigate. Of course, the constant bombardment from the ship's cannon is a real hindrance. Once Tom has accomplished this, the next difficult task awaits him. He has to sneak past the pirates to the cabin where Betty is being held captive. Ropes lying around on the deck and the low railing turn out to be further sources of danger.
When you finally reach Betty, the misfortune is far from over. At the last moment she is kidnapped by a flying monster. Back in the balloon and after it! 3000 kilometers along a forest, an aggressive gorilla wants to get our hero out of the air with coconuts, vultures constantly cross his path. The vulture's nest (in the next picture) has to be climbed against the determined resistance of various monkeys and squirrels, and again everything goes wrong at the last moment.
Cannibals kidnap Betty and take her to her village.
The journey through the jungle is of course no picnic, but when Tom leaves this path behind him, he senses something terrible in the next picture. ... and cannibalism
The fire under the oversized cooking pot flickers brightly, Tom has to sneak through the natives to the stake, where Betty is tied up and waiting to be rescued. By now we no longer believe in a happy ending, and our bad feeling is confirmed. A helicopter pilot snatches the girl from under his nose and has a whole squadron of helicopters to back him up, which Tom has to avoid in pursuit. So battle-tested, it is easy for Tom in the last scene to direct the bullets from the enemy ground cannon at the enemy helicopters. Only when all of them have been shot down is Betty saved and the young couple can return to the South Sea island.
The balloon is controlled with a joystick in port 2 or the A, Z, . and / keys. Everything else is asked in dialogue with the player(s).
If someone can't resist wanting to change something in the game: between $4000 and $8B00 there are graphics, character sets, sprites, machine programs and so on.
This area must be saved with a monitor before any program interventions and then reloaded.
I welcome you to Tom and Betty's island! The two live there in love and happily. But how quickly things can change.
In the blink of an eye, their happiness is destroyed. Betty is kidnapped by pirates. But Tom, our hero, pursues the kidnappers in his balloon without hesitation!
Tom now has the difficult task of landing unharmed on the left side of the pirate ship's landing pad amidst the hail of cannons...
Tom managed to land, but the ship was swarming with pirates. Tom had to sneak past them without going over the railing.
But Tom is unlucky again. He has barely held his Betty in his arms when she is grabbed by a giant vulture and carried away.
Undaunted, Tom climbs back into his balloon and tries to follow the vultures to their nest.
But the path to the vulture's nest is also full of thorns. A baboon and a dangerous squirrel hinder the ascent.
Just as Tom stretches out his hands to Betty, she is kidnapped by a Humwadawada native and dragged into his village.
Tom has to continue his search again. This time she leads him through the jungle, where man-eating tigers and fierce giant owls are looking for their dinner.
When Tom reaches the village of the Humwadawadas, he is horrified to discover why his Betty has been stolen. The inveterate cannibals want to prepare a filet a la Betty.
But Tom is once again too late. As he sneaks up to Betty, a helicopter snatches Betty from under his nose at the last moment.
For Tom there is no question: he immediately climbs into his balloon and begins to pursue the helicopters.
Tom discovers Betty hiding in the Tower Bridge. Now he has to trick the Hubis with their own ground cannon in order to finally be reunited with Betty.
So, now Tom has really done it, who would have thought?!
