You only need the staff/stick to push the boat in level 1. The shuriken is the only weapon you need as it kills all enemies with one hit.
I tried to create a world record with this speedrun but the timer is a bit of a cheat as it jumps forward a few seconds each time you enter another room. I only needed to visit 76 out of 92 rooms. I jumped out of two rooms for quickness due to glitches.
9:42 I didn’t know you could walk through here without switching the light on. I feared I might have died from walking into a wall in the dark or something.
