0This time, we’ll talk about one of the most epic games in history — Cadillacs and Dinosaurs!
Published by Capcom in 1992, this game is part of the beat ‘em up genre. The movements in the game mimic the classic side-scrollers of yore.
One of the most distinctive features of the game is its use of weapons, something not very common in the genre. Another outstanding feature is the level where we drive a car — a Cadillac, of course — with our character, something novel for the time.
When it comes to controls, we have the classic combo of eight directions, action button, attack and jump. Through these commands, we can also perform “special” attacks:
- A 360-degree attack: pressing jump and attack at the same time will make the character perform a special attack that will render him invulnerable for a few seconds. In exchange, you’ll lose a life.
- Charge: pressing the directional button twice along with the attack button, you’ll perform a running attack.
- High attack: press down, up and attack to perform an attack that will impact twice, but will leave you exposed to enemy retaliation.
One piece of trivia about this game is that it was never ported from the arcades to home machines due to the high price General Motor established to license the Cadillac brand.
