Having a good sense of Abare, of knowing when to challenge rational actions with rewarding risky play is what I feel separates the average player from advanced players. Being able to capitalize on those mashes and turn the momentum swing into comebacks is what makes you truly world class.
The X-Factor of calculating the risk/reward of your mashes allows you to dictate the pace of the match and create psychological openings that normally wouldn't exist.
