California Games (Sega Master System) - Zilog and Moto #270
39Back in episode #170, I reviewed something that I view as a bit of an oddity in the Genesis catalog, California Games. It stands out, because the game is originally from 1987, so, you wouldn't expect to see it resurrected five years later on a console that wasn't even on Sega's drawing board when it was originally released. You'd think that due to that, the Genesis version would be the best possible version of the game, but as I saw in that episode, it was actually the opposite.
Due to that, I was hopeful that the Master System version might redeem things a bit for the California Games, a game that I normally like very much. Did Sega get the job done? Or should you stick with the Commodore 64 version? Take a look!
