Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth - Action Without Combat
A bout of amnesia isn't enough to keep Jack Walters off the beat. Though after asking too many questions in the small fishing town of Innsmouth, the locals chase him about the town with a bunch of guns, forcing Jack on the run.
An example of how trial and error game-play can be used effectively. I'm getting more and more interested in trial and error game-play, pretty much to the point that you can maybe expect a video on the subject in the future.
Just to clarify a couple of things, while the audio is clear, the visuals may confuse some during the "action does not equal fighting and combat" segment, which of course on it's own merit, isn't true, what I mean is that Action isn't exclusive to just fighting and combat. I know most of you will realise this, because, you know, I state it quite clearly, but this is just me preempting some angry comments.
Also, I'm in no way saying that the games I reference are in any way bad, quite the contrary, I'm merely using them as an example of games that rely on combat. While fighting can be avoided in Silent Hill and Lone Survivor, there are many obstacles (plus bosses) that require combat to pass. Hope that clears things up.
