A first-person shooter video game called Call of Duty: Black Ops II was created by Treyarch and released by Activision in 2012. The ninth installment in the Call of Duty video game series, Black Ops II, is a follow-up to the 2010 title Call of Duty: Black Ops.
The campaign of the game takes place between the late 1980s and 2025 and continues the plot of Black Ops. Two of the Black Ops characters, Alex Mason and Frank Woods, may be controlled in the 1980s while David Mason, son of Alex Mason, can be controlled in 2025. (codenamed "Section"). The main players are on the hunt for Raul Menendez, a Nicaraguan cartel lord who abducted Woods in the 1980s and subsequently sparked a second Cold War in 2025. The campaign contains several endings and nonlinear gameplay.
