It's easy for the Player to do everything alone and go everywhere alone. Add Companions into the mix and you have a much more difficult game, having to manage them traveling from level to level and finding or seeking shelter. Call of the Zone is supposed to have better Companions management than Call of Chernobyl, meaning you are supposed to be able to leave them behind, while you go alone into a level next door. If it works, you appear alone. If it doesn't work, then you and all your Companions should appear right next to each other. Sometimes something will go wrong, and you could even lose Companions if they don't remain behind when ordered to do so.

When I left Rostok and arrived in the Wild Territory, I was alone as I intended, and I quickly checked my PDA Map to make sure any Companions did not appear with me in the level. As there were only a few hours of sunlight left, my plan was to hit that half a dozen of activated stashes, that I had left behind earlier today. I quickly discovered I was not alone in this end of the Wild Territory. Luckily there were no other Faction members as support. I went to the Anomaly House first, being a stash in the attic and another inside a broken safe in a room. From there I was out a window and down among the railroad cars, where I moved to another stash in a shed.

There was a swarm of various mutants on the other side, nearby the wreckage of an old Military chopper. This was a dangerous area, as men and mutants could appear in the far northwest corner ( spawning location ) which is usually from the Army Warehouses to the Wild Territory. However, there's that one little stretch in Rostok, where they briefly touch down ( go online ) that is on that hill to the west of the Rostok road going north. I've already showed in other videos this section of Rostok where they briefly appear. It was here where I dealt with the most mutants.

Afterward I hit a few more stashes, looking at my PDA Map recognizing one was in a building back by the watchtower and another was one that you simply could not reach due to anomalies. Then it caught my eye, there on the PDA Map at the level changer to Rostok, was the symbol for a Companion. There were not supposed to be any Companions in the level with me. They were all supposed to be inside the 100 Rads Bar. The PDA Map did not show all of them, as there was at least one, maybe two. I immediately took off running to the east and went up ladders, and I ran down elevated pipes to get to the other side, where the other road led to the passage. Sprinting through it and out into the other courtyard, I arrived to find two of my Companions. Where were my other twenty-eight Companions?

I couldn't see any other Companions on my PDA Map. I felt I had no choice but to get other of there and see if the others were in Rostok. They were not and I was at a loss what to do next. I had lost Companions like this in Call of Chernobyl. I decided to get my Companions to follow me again, as I was in one of the long buildings, where I had just lit the campfire. Pulling out my PDA Map again, I watched to see who would answer my call. The moments seem to take forever before the first one popped up, and then another and another, and they were all coming from the Wild Territory side. As if they were in the Rostok hills and only materialized out of nowhere when they appeared on my PDA Map. Soon all of them arrived. I don't think I'm going to risk going alone again. This all could have been much worse, in front of our enemies.
